lure in low-income borrowers. Initial fees for loans generally are $15 for every $100 borrowed. This may not seem

Kansas City voters OK Payday Loan Business Fees - On Tuesday, April 9,2008
Kansas City voters approved a $1000 annual fee for Payday Loan establishments. 63.5% of the voters approved the fee
which is to reimburse the city for monitoring costs associated with payday loan businesses.
The new fee is expected to raise $110,000 and allow the city the hire 2 code enforcement officials. In September 2007,
the Kansas City Council imposed new restrictions on payday loan providers, putting restrictions on building appearance
and limitations on location.
